The idea of Jimi's Image was born in the summer of '87 at the Santa Clara
County Fairgrounds. Since then the bands personnel has undergone many
changes to finally arrive at it's most polished and professional level. Jimi
Taylor grew up in the California Bay Area and has many things in common
with the late Jimi Hendrix.
Ken Tonn is the backbone of the group, playing Bass all of his life. Hand
picked from Alaska's best, Ken Rocks. The latest member of the group is
Aaron Olson, the Percussionist. I say percussionist because he is much more
than a drummer. Aaron brings Mitch's style and flair that completes the
daunting task of recreating the sound of Jimi's thunder.
Jimi's Image has shared the stage with the likes of Canned Heat, Ten
Years After, Iron Butterfly, Greg Rollie and Mountain with audiences of up to
eleven (11) thousand. Jimi's Image is, and will continue to be, dedicated to
preserving the legacy of the most revered band in history, The Jimi Hendrix
Experience.
Jimi has also opened for the popular Mexican band "El Tri" with 17,000 in
attendance and was asked to do an encore before the headliners came out!
