ROGER ENRICO (co-founder and lead singer of "EVIL WAZE") (better known as "the
congaman") joined forces with Mike Torres in 1999. Born and raised in Queens N.Y., he
finished his high school and college education in El Paso before moving to Arizona.
Charismatic and full of wild ideas and theories, this very talented and incredibly versatile
individual has become one of the hardest-working musicians in Phoenix. Although he
plays a variety of different musical instruments - tenor sax, harmonica, congas and flute -
he is most respected for his commanding vocal abilities, and the lightning speed and
rhythmically thundering persuasiveness of his percussion for "EVIL WAZE", a SANTANA
tribute phenomenon.
Roger has also played with members of "SANTANA", recorded with "EL CHICANO", played
with the "COASTERS", the "DRIFTERS", "TIERRA", "JAN AND DEAN", "KEITH CARRIDINE",
and once even had a three hour long interview with "Edward Van Halen" in the privacy of
Roger’s luxury suite atop the Marriott hotel in Tucson Arizona (1981).
